Porco Rosso Image Album – Joe Hisaishi Vinyl LP

Before the film was finished, Joe Hisaishi wrote this image album to capture the mood of Porco Rosso, working from Hayao Miyazaki's original manga and his music notes. It was inspired by late-1920s Europe and Italy, and it sounds like sunlit afternoons over the Adriatic, from the airy opener "Blue Sky of the Adriatic Sea" to the warm, wistful "Marco and Gina's Theme." This 2020 Studio Ghibli Records release was the album's first time on vinyl, with newly remastered sound and new watercolor jacket art of Porco's red seaplane skimming the harbor. It comes with the Japanese obi strip, and it looks as good on a shelf as it sounds on a turntable. A must-have for Ghibli collectors and anyone who loves Hisaishi's music.
