Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind Soundtrack "To a Faraway Land" – Joe Hisaishi Vinyl LP

This is the score that started it all: Joe Hisaishi's first collaboration with Hayao Miyazaki, for the 1984 classic Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. The 13 tracks run from the sweeping opening theme through "The Valley of the Wind," "The Princess Who Loves Insects," and "Ohmu Stampede." They close with the haunting "Nausicaä Requiem," famous for its child's voice, and the ending theme "Bird Person." This 2018 Studio Ghibli Records pressing brings the soundtrack back to vinyl. The front jacket has Miyazaki's watercolor of Nausicaä with Teto on her shoulder, and the back shows a young girl running across a bright white field. It comes with the obi strip plus a 4-page color gravure and score insert, making it a must-have for fans of Ghibli's earliest adventure.
